One more time for people in the back.
Is the correct term ‘midnight’ or ’12 midnight’? Let me start off by telling you the correct term is ‘midnight’. You don’t need to put ’12 midnight’ because midnight already implies that it’s 12 a.m. Therefore, one cancels out the other. I’ve seen ’12 midnight’ on social media posts, emails, fliers, websites, and other places. Remember this if you don’t remember anything else: there is no such thing as ’12 midnight’.
Now some of you might be asking yourself, so is ’12 noon’ wrong too? Yes, sweetheart, it’s wrong as well. There’s no need to put ’12 noon’ because ‘noon’ implies that it’s 12 p.m. So the next time you’re writing an email at work, planning a party, or printing invitations please do not put ’12 noon’ or ‘12 midnight’ because it’s wrong and now you know why.
