1. You’ve lived in Alabama for almost 15 years and some people may not know you’re originally from Detroit. What do you miss most about the city?

What I miss most about the city is the culture and variety of food options. I also miss my friends and family.

2. You are a breast cancer survivor. Tell us what it was liked to be diagnosed in your mid twenties.

Being diagnosed in my early thirties was a huge shock. I was just loving along with my life then, boom. It took me a few days to wrap my head around the diagnosis, but once I did, I knew I had to fight and win! xx

3. Why is it so important for you to spread the word for women, both young and aged, to get checked?

I believe its important that I spread the word to younger women because the medical is not. If I can reach as many as a can that could be me saving someone’s life.

4. Did you always want to be a radio host?

I actually wanted to be a lawyer at first but then I realized I didn’t like to argue. After doing internships in television, radio, and in the print journalism field I realized radio was for me.

5. What do you love/hate about radio life?

I don’t really hate too much about radio life. This is the career I know I was born for. I love interviewing people from all walks of life and artist. For me, music is life. It’s also opened up different skill sets such as hosting and djing.

6. You’re very fashion forward and take risks when dressing. How would you describe your style?

Honestly, I dress how I feel. I am a sweatsuit and kicks girl but I will dress it up and hit you with some heat. I think style is individual. One thing I know is I wear my clothes I don’t let them wear me.

7. What colors have you dyed your hair since cutting it off after your diagnosis?

I have dyed my hair so many colors I can even think of them all but to name some… green, blonde, blue, red, pink, silver, purple, turquoise, and orange.

8. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

Potato chips! I have to eat a bag a day.

9. How would you describe ‘Black Girl Magic’?

Black girl magic to me is being unapologetically me. I know how to be strong yet vulnerable and create a balance between career and personal life. I love the skin I’m in and allow myself to flourish to become the best person I can be.

10. What’s the best advice you ever got?

The best advice I’ve ever received was you “You don’t have to respond to everything or everyone”
